AIDs is causing untold sufferings in Kenya. AIDS is the leading cause of child mortality and morbidity in Kenya. AIDS and poverty are two major problems in the slums and in the rural areas of Kenya. Thousands of Children have lost both parents and are now in the care of their grandmothers and other relatives. It is however becoming extremely hard for the grandmothers in the villages as many of them do not have any source of income. These grand mothers depend on well wishers to support the children with school fees, food, clothes and other basic needs. Action Africa is supporting three such programmes for the orphans in Nairobi, Kiambu and Homabay Districts . In addition to daily support for children, we are also seeking funds to start income generating projects such as tailoring, making beads for widows so they can raise funds to support the children. We kindly request you to support the programmes by donating cash or materials to give these children a future.
